Are you a young woman in Abuja interested in civic education, policymaking, and governance?

The Voices of Change Legislative Edition is for you!

The Voices of Change: Legislative Edition is a leadership and civic education program designed to build legislative literacy, advocacy skills, and policy engagement capacity among young women. It is aimed at preparing them ahead of the 2027 elections.

The program offers the opportunity to learn directly from experts over six weeks of interactive virtual sessions. Then, participants put theory into practice through a Youth Mock Assembly. This Assembly simulates real legislative processes such as debate, lawmaking, and policy development.

By the end of the program, you’ll gain:

Strong understanding of Nigeria’s legislative, constitutional, and governance systems

Practical legislative and policy advocacy experience

Communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills relevant to public service and advocacy

Who can apply:

Young women aged 18–35 residing in Abuja, with a demonstrated interest in civic education and legislative engagement.

VOICES OF CHANGE: LEGISLATIVE EDITION

The Voices of Change: Legislative Edition is a civic education and leadership program by the NAF Foundation for Young Women. With support from the Nigeria Youth Futures Fund, it is designed to equip young women with knowledge, confidence and practical skills. As a result, participants engage meaningfully in Nigeria’s democratic and legislative processes.

At a time when young women’s political participation is increasing but representation in governance remains low, this program goes beyond voting to focus on constitutional literacy, legislative processes, advocacy, and leadership development. Through virtual learning sessions and a Youth Mock Assembly that simulates parliamentary proceedings, participants will gain real-world exposure to lawmaking, policy engagement, and civic leadership.

This edition will empower  young women in Abuja to move from political interest to political influence. It prepares them to engage institutions, shape policy outcomes and pursue leadership pathways ahead of the 2027 elections and beyond.
