    Position: World Health Organization Specialist


    Overview:

    As a World Health Organization (WHO) specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to support the organization's global health goals. You will work closely with other health professionals, government officials, and community leaders to address pressing health issues and promote health equity worldwide.


    Key Responsibilities:

    - Serve as a subject matter expert on the WHO's mission, goals, and initiatives

    - Conduct research and analysis on global health trends, challenges, and opportunities

    - Develop and implement strategies to address priority health issues, such as infectious diseases, maternal and child health, and noncommunicable diseases

    - Collaborate with international partners, including governments, NGOs, and private sector organizations, to support and advance WHO's health agenda

    - Provide technical assistance and guidance to countries in developing and implementing national health policies and programs

    - Monitor and evaluate the impact of WHO's interventions and make recommendations for improvement

    - Lead and participate in advocacy efforts to mobilize resources and raise awareness about global health issues

    - Represent the WHO in conferences, meetings, and other events, both nationally and internationally

    - Keep abreast of the latest developments in the field of global health and contribute to the development of new policies and strategies

    - Mentor and train junior staff and contribute to their professional development


    Qualifications:

    - A minimum of a Master's degree in public health, international development, or a related field

    - At least 5 years of experience in global health, preferably with a focus on developing countries

    - In-depth knowledge of the WHO's mandate, policies, and programs

    - Proven experience in developing and implementing health strategies and initiatives

    - Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and information

    - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders

    - Experience working in a multicultural and international environment

    - Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of initiative and problem-solving skills

    - Fluent in English, with knowledge of another UN language considered an asset

    - Willingness to travel frequently, sometimes to remote and challenging locations
