    INTRODUCTION

    Education, system of formal teaching and learning as conducted through schools and other institutions. Levels of education in modern societies can go from preschools to colleges and universities. Education is that permanent change that occurs in the lives of people as a result of the interaction between man and his environment. Education of Gifted Students, area in the field of special education concerned with the instruction of students who have exceptionally high abilities. The United States Department of Education describes “giftedness” as exceptionally advanced performance or the potential for outstanding performance in intellectual, creative, leadership, artistic, or specific academic fields. Children who demonstrate outstanding talents come from all social, cultural, and economic groups.

    One of the greatest tools that shape the economy lies in the training of youths in Business Education as the best practices and in specifics skills, such as accounting, computer, and word processing. Business education in Nigeria seems to have followed a too distinctive level, which are education for administrative support personnel in business and industry and collegiate education for business administration and for teacher preparation, (Makind, 1983)

    Education for Business Education is the education that prepares the youth for business life in the business of the nation also raises the nation’s economy, (Adebayo, 2001)

    The earliest forces of Business Education according to learned men and women as well as most authors were the apprenticeship training. At the time an individual had to learn a trade under another person. We believed you can guess from the subject’s name, Business Education, does not only equip the people with the survival skills but also the nation. 

    “Does every one need Business Education? These questions was asked and the answer is the inevitable yes, even for a scientist, poet. Business Education is a vital tool to management of all sectors of life activities.

    Education has so many branches to which Business Education seem to be more noticed. There is the primary, secondary, teacher education, entrepreneurial education. Business is taught as an academic subject in Australia, United Kingdom, South Africa, and Argentina high schools which in Nigerian secondary schools may prefer to replace the subject with commerce. Business Education has assumed a prominent role in Nigeria for it leads to development of al the sectors of the economy of the country leading to economic growth.


    PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION

    Colleges and universities provide professional education for persons who function at the administrative and management levels and also for those who teach business at the secondary and collegiate levels. The first business school at the collegiate level was the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce, founded in 1881 at the University of Pennsylvania. Today about 1200 colleges offer programs leading to a bachelor's degree in business administration. More than 600 schools have graduate programs leading to the master's, and about 100 have doctoral programs in the field.

    The typical college of business administration offers concentrations in accounting, finance, marketing, manufacturing, management information systems, operations management, and international business. Many business schools now offer education in areas not usually classified as business, such as governmental or public administration and institutional management. Enrollment in undergraduate schools of business administration is now more than 2.5 million students, and graduate enrollment is about 200,000.

    BUSINESS EDUCATION IN NIGERIA

    Business Education in Nigeria is a topic that cannot be complete without mentioning private business schools and commercial school which usually is registered by the government. The term “approval” means presenting to West African schools certificate examinations. Students who could not finish school may not be able to get good job, may be apprenticed, nor pass the senior school examination preparing themselves ready for higher education. Those who had finished primary school in the pre-colonial or colonial era in Nigerian higher institutions.

    It is well noted that business education has been in Nigeria for a long time, for in Igboland, every form of training was to produce the real man, who can survive every form of the economy. Such, every child is taken to the farm to learn the act of food production. The modern refined Business Education in Nigeria occurred when the colony hired and also trained school teachers to teach reading, writing, and recitation. Sooner, casting of accounts was added to the trainings that were given to Nigerian pupils and the students.


    IMPORTANCE OF BUSINESS EDUCATION IN NIGERIA

    1. Business Education prepares the nation’s youth for effective living, and productivity.

    2. It is widely accepted that Business Education develops the world.

    3. What is more important, Business Education provides real world experiences, and prepares students for grown-up-life and independence.

    4. Business Education teaches how to earn money in any life situation. By attending business classes, students can succeed.

    5. Business Education increases the knowledge, and the training that is expected of every business man and woman.

    6. Business Education helps produce the teachers who will engage in professional studies in Business Education.

    7. Business Education graduates of the program to have an intelligent understanding of the increasing complexity of business.

    8. Business Education tends to produce, (strong advocates and promoters of viable industries and business industries.

    9. Business Education tends to equip graduates with the necessary competencies to teach business topics in school and institutions.

    10. Business Education prepares the school to prepare the teachers who prepares the learner towards the business life.

    11. Business Education explains the problems and pitfalls of having good business that the owner can rely on.


    CONCLUSION

    Business Education becomes a term that comprises a number of techniques and methods that are used to teach students the fundamentals of business practices. These method ranges from formal education degree programs such as the master of business administration, (MBA) to school-to-work opportunity systems or cooperative education. It is a neglect that many students have not been able to grasp with in their fingers what Business Education really is about. If so, the country would not be experiencing the cases of banditry, kidnapping and all other forms of criminal activities which Business Education would have helped prevent and still would be the cure. It is well advised that every hand should be on deck to encourage more students to read Business Education in Nigeria, as to save the failing economy that existed in Nigeria and the whole world.
