  • WHY YOUR DESTINY CAN NOT STAND AS YOU WANT IT OKECHUKWU CHIDOLUO VITUS
  •

Life is often filled with unexpected twists and turns that can leave us feeling overwhelmed and wondering if our destiny is truly within our control. While we may have grand dreams and aspirations, the reality is that our destiny is not always something that can be neatly packaged and put on display as we wish. There are many factors at play that can influence and shape our path in ways that we may not anticipate or fully understand.

One reason why our destiny may not stand as we want it is the concept of external forces that are beyond our control. As noted by psychologist Albert Bandura, there are external factors such as socioeconomic status, family background, and societal expectations that can significantly impact our opportunities and choices (Bandura, 2001). These external forces can create barriers and limitations that may prevent us from achieving our desired destiny, no matter how determined or ambitious we may be.

Furthermore, the unpredictable nature of life itself also plays a significant role in shaping our destiny. As stated by philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, life is inherently chaotic and constantly in flux, making it impossible to predict or control every aspect of our future (Nietzsche, 1886). Unexpected events such as accidents, illness, or natural disasters can arise at any moment and disrupt our plans and goals, leading us down a different path than we had envisioned.

In addition, our own internal struggles and limitations can also hinder our ability to manifest our destiny as we desire. Cognitive biases and self-doubt can cloud our judgment and prevent us from taking risks or pursuing opportunities that could lead to personal growth and fulfillment (Kahneman & Tversky, 1979). Our fears and insecurities may hold us back from stepping outside of our comfort zones and exploring new possibilities that could ultimately shape our destiny in a positive way.

In conclusion, while we may have a strong desire to control and shape our own destiny, the reality is that there are many factors at play that can influence and shape our path in ways that we may not anticipate or fully understand. External forces, the unpredictable nature of life, and our own internal struggles and limitations all play a role in determining the course of our destiny. It is important to recognize and accept these factors, while also striving to maintain a sense of resilience, adaptability, and determination as we navigate the unpredictable journey of life.
