1. A very good Bachelors degree can secure you a PhD position in one of the seven major Universities in New Zealand. New Zealand has one of the most affordable PhD programs compared to Canada, United States, Australia and the United Kingdom and many European countries
2. All PhD students are considered domestic students. So instead of paying 33,000 New Zealand dollars (NZD) for tuition, they get to pay between 7,000 - 8,500 NZD depending on the program. That is more than 24000 off your tuition. Fun fact: The Nigerian naira is about 840 to NZD. That is less than 6.5 million for tuition without seeking scholarship. With Proof of funds that is less than 8 million, you are good to go. 3. Apart from Universities, New Zealand has a lot of colleges and institutes you can study Level 4-7 courses. The tuition fees are not exorbitant. Go for courses that are on the Green List such as Agriculture, Care work, Transportation etc. On completion, you are eligible to apply for Care Workforce Work to Residence visa if you secure a job with an accredited employer.
4. New Zealand offers post study work permit for Level 7 courses and above. This ranges from 2-3 years and gives you enough time to search for a job that can get you on track to Residence. There is also the job search visa option.
5. Schooling in New Zealand is one of the surest route to Residence. It must not be a PhD. The main thing is that it must be course on the Green List and you are on track to get in-demand roles and Residence if you secure a job.
